Business and Languages is a three-year (six-semester) bachelor's programme at the Sopot University of Applied Sciences (SANS), taught in English and run jointly with Ateneum University in Gdańsk. It is for you if you want to study business in an international setting and learn a second foreign language alongside it.
The programme combines business studies in English with intensive study of a second foreign language. You learn in a multicultural environment where students work together on projects, and the interdisciplinary curriculum prepares you for international workplaces. In the first semester you strengthen your business English so you can follow the business subjects that come next. Your teachers are practitioners of business life, many with wide professional contacts, who often act as mentors and help you build your own network while you are still studying. You can study full-time or part-time, with some online teaching.
A work placement is guaranteed in the sixth semester in domestic and international companies, including the BPO and shared-services sector, so you combine study with practice and shorten your path into a career. The university also works with outsourcing centres and firms that recruit finance specialists, accountants and controllers.
Next to English, you take intensive classes in a second foreign language of your choice: German, Swedish, Spanish or French.
The courses run for four semesters and take you from a basic level to a solid working command of the language. Business communication, including etiquette and negotiation in international settings, is a regular part of the language package, which is useful whether you plan to work in Poland or abroad.
One degree, two universities: graduates receive a single bachelor's diploma issued jointly by the Sopot University of Applied Sciences, a business school, and Ateneum University in Gdańsk, a linguistic one.
Graduates work, for example, as:
