Outdoor Education and Leisure with Geography

There is a close alliance between outdoor education and geography. The study of landscape and the environment is central to both disciplines. You will study and explore the geography, environment and heritage of the Irish landscape in addition to gaining instructor qualifications in adventure sports. The study of group development, communication, teaching skills and course design will enable you to share your knowledge effectively with others. One day a week is spent on adventure sports practicals in venues including Achill, Connemara and numerous surf beaches in Mayo. There are also weekend practical courses which provide opportunities for specialisation in adventure sports.
