Business Analytics and Data Science at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS) is a three-year, full-time Bachelor's programme with a general academic profile, run by the Faculty of Economics and taught in English. It combines information technology with business knowledge and is aimed mainly at international students who want to use statistics, data mining and modelling to support management decisions.
The curriculum mixes lectures and seminars, run by academics and business practitioners, with hands-on work:
The programme has no minors, but you shape your learning path by choosing electives from a pool of courses in English and Polish. An elective starts when at least 20 students sign up, and if places run out, your grade average from the previous semester decides. Some classes are held remotely.
Internship at a glance
Already after the first semester you can apply to study at one of dozens of Erasmus+ partner universities, while at home you study alongside students from all over the world and can join research clubs and student organisations.
Graduates find work in enterprises, banks, insurance companies, research centres, marketing agencies and consulting firms – for example as business, database, financial or market research analysts.
You can continue on the Business Analytics and Data Science Master's programme at UMCS, or use your economic knowledge to run your own business. Lublin's business services sector (BPO, SSC, IT), a pillar of the city's development strategy, offers data analysts work in international teams for global clients.
Did you know? The study programme is updated on an ongoing basis together with business practitioners.
